I'm Caitlin. I'm an experienced writer, editor, and content manager with 10 years of experience in marketing and communications, public relations, and journalism. I’m currently a graduate student in Emerson College’s Master of Arts in Marketing program, which blends creative storytelling with data-driven strategy and analytics.
My Story
After graduating with a journalism degree in 2014, I worked as a journalist at several newspapers in Texas before entering the world of public relations. I spent years juggling several stories on tight deadlines, so I know firsthand how hard it is to catch a reporter’s attention. Just as important, I understand what their assignment editors are looking for — and how many press releases pile up in their inboxes every day. Most PR pitches get deleted, if they’re ever seen at all. Thanks to my journalism background, I now know how to cut through the clutter and pitch a story that’s worthy of reporters’ time. I offer a unique perspective to early-career public relations and communications professionals on how to land the media placements they seek.
